What is Auto-Event Detection? What Parking Mode to Choose?

What Parking Mode to choose?

There are three parking modes in the menu: Auto-event detection, Time-lapse, and Low bitrate.

  1. Auto event detection
  2. Time-lapse mode.
  3. Low bitrate mode:

1.Auto event detection

Dashcam record when it detects movements within its lens' field of view. and stops recording when no motion is detected.

Tips:

  • You can adjust its sensitivity by option " Parking motion detection'',there are three levels to choose from, we suggest you choose low sensitivity, so minor motion caused by wind or rain doesn't trigger recording.
  • All files recorded in this mode are locked and saved in the RO folder.
  • Most of our cameras support buffer parking, so some seconds before the trigger will be saved.

Click Buffered parking mode to get more details.

2.Time-lapse mode.

Dashcam will record fewer frames in one second, so the video playback will be fast and mute, The consumption in this mode is relatively lower.

3. Low bitrate parking mode

Dashcam can record constantly at a lower bitrate, so the image quality may be a little inferior, while not noticeable by nakey eyes generally. The consumption in this mode is also relatively lower.

What is Parking G-sensor?

It detects significant or sudden movement (such as an impact or collision), and once it is triggered, the emergency video will be locked.

We suggest setting it to High sensitivity in parking mode

Note: Parking G-sensor only works during recording, so in auto event detection parking mode, if camera has not triggered into recording by event first, Parking  G-sensor does not work.

Functions during driving:

G-sensor

It is used to adjust the sensitivity of the G-sensor during driving.

It detects significant or sudden movement (such as an impact or collision), and once it is triggered, the video will be locked, we suggest setting it to low sensitivity.

Motion detection

The default setting is off, if you turn it on, the cam will stop recording after 1 minute when no motion is detected during driving.

It is useful in cases when you stop the car temporarily for a red light or go to the convenience store, and do not want the camera record during the period, and it will restart when your car is moving again.

In case you do not want to miss any videos, you shall keep the default "off" option.

Tips: Feature Motion detection has been canceled in some models.
